Yield Collection

Yield is a collection of comfortable wood furniture designed to be built with common tools and materials. Inspired by Enzo Mari’s Sedia 1, I wanted to design a DIY chair for the modern era. I felt that many DIY wood chairs lacked proper curvature for comfort. After exploring ideas on how to create curves with minimal effort, I created a makeshift bent plywood technique. A thin sheet of plywood is screwed down to a wood frame, bending it just enough to provide a comfortable sitting surface. The result is a simple, easy to build, comfortable wood chair. Continuing the tradition of Mari’s Sedia 1, I have provided plans for anyone to build.
